The article focused on the Sagas of the Earls of Orkney. Judith Jesch discusses the practice of co-earls, how it produced a cycle of treachery, intrigue and murder.

I found this commission delightfully challenging - a double-page spread with two narrow illustrations. I approached these pieces through a film directorial lens. Utilising distance and space to emphasise the tension with muted colours contrasting against earthy tones to evoke a sombre atmosphere.
